Feb 4: An automotive update.
Where to start, where to start. OK 3 vehicles involved here. The Minivan, The Van, and the mighty Geo Metro.
The minivan has sort of kind of given up the ghost for the last time. For a couple months it had a stuck lifter. Then the lifter dropped and it began dying at random. Next the engine started running perfectly followed by the disappearance of 3rd gear (leaving us with 1st and 2nd gear).
It was about this point that the van which has been sitting for about 18 months began the process of resurrection (new tires, battery and replacing a brake line). So it was alive but not drivable during this process. The minivan then died and would not start. We called for a tow truck and then out of nowhere it started. The new problem was now that second gear was gone as well. The next day we drove it to the courthouse and got the tags taken care of on the Geo.
After sitting for nearly 6 months it started right up and ran like a scalded dog. Wicked cool I tell ya. So now the minivan is like ....the undead, cable of movement but only in a slow shambling pace. The big van is waiting for a brake line to be ready for its 1200 mile trek to McAllen. And my lil Geo Metro Jedi is using the force to run us around. I really hope we can get a tow hitch for the van so we can to the Geo.
A new update! I must have bragged too much. While coming back from dropping Katie off at Seminary at 615 this morning the Geo died. It acts like the battery is dead. I looked under the hood and It looks like the Battery terminals are corroded. I'll wait until nine and go try to jump it and then to get a terminal cleaner if that doesn't work. Keep your fingers crossed for the little guy.
