Jul 5: Summer Fun
Trying to come up with a single cohesive theme about which to blog here. Let's just say my mind is a bit distracted
and cohesive does not seem to be working for me. First, dental works SUCKS! there's the pain and the my mouth just feels wrong aspects. It just leaves a guy feeling icky. We were going to go to my Cousin's house for the fourth of July weekend. We were supposed to camp on his farm. My dental issues put a killing stop on that plan. We do have some plans for hitting the road and camping real soon though. I am actually thinking that we'll do quite a bit of camping.
WE are thinking maybe some camping in Cave City, and Lousiville Ky. Perhaps East Fork Lake Big Bone Lick. maybe sa cabin in Hocking Hills and also in Jellystone Campground in cave city. Who knows. Mary is more of the Clark Griswold trip planner. She knows where we we will go.
Although I must admit that the two of us have come to an impasse. I want to stay at Wig Wam Village. Mary is questioning the cost and feels we should just go there and just take a look at it. This is a sacrilege. My parents did that very thing when I was a kid. Broke my heart in two. Thats why I want so badly to go now. I say damn the torpedoes (which I admit isn't the proper analogy) and stay in the TeePees at Wig Wam Village. In our travels we are hoping to hit Mammoth Cave National Park and a lake with a beach. We also want to shoot for a drive thru.
Mary actually wants our first camping "excursion" to be into our own backyard. She wants to set our tent up and camp under our big tree. I say I agree that we should do some back yard camping but first we should camp out someplace else. Why? Because, if we start out in the back yard, then we will be close to the air conditioning and soft mattresses. And thus, our first trip would involve the little guys being moved into the house at some point during the night. They get the idea then that this is how camping goes and when we go out for real its a mess.
